In Thailand it’s always Summer… So utilizing classic Thai dishes we will learn to balance the influence of Summer Heat!
Pad Thai, Tom Yum, Spring Rolls, Mango Sticky Rice and more! Vegan and Gluten free! It’s going to be great! MMMMMMMMMM! Just back from 2 months of teaching in Thailand Balarama will offer an introduction to the Philosophy of Ayurveda and it’s use of Food, learn about summer herbs, and how to prepare easy Thai dishes which will impress anyone! There will be time to examine your Ayurvedic Constitution. If you’ve attended any of our cooking events you know it will be good community, fantastic food and lot’s of laughs.
The class and dinner is $50 and will be held at Larry and Debbie’s kitchen.

Once-a-Month Friday Night Restorative Yoga with Shiya

Let stress and tension melt away and connect with a deep sense of peace and relaxation. Restorative Yoga is a gentle healing form of Hatha yoga that is practiced with props to provide a supportive environment for total relaxation. Only 5-6 Restorative poses are practiced per class. These gentle poses create physiological responses which are beneficial to your health and can reduce the effects of stress-related illness. The class is slow, deeply nurturing and suitable for all ages and yoga levels.

If you’re a beginner struggling with downward dog or a more advanced student perfecting your shoulder stand, give the Basics course a try. Take advantage of a more intimate environment and focus on the fundamentals. Each week of the month features a concentration: standing poses, forward bends, back bends, and finally inversions. Learn to teach yoga with this the foundational 200 hour vinyasa yoga teacher training program. This course is ideal for serious students of yoga and aspiring teachers.
The Shanti Yoga Shala 200-hour in-depth vinyasa yoga teacher training is a 6 month long intensive program in which our highly qualified and experienced teachers will lead you as you learn and develop the skills, tools, knowledge and compassion to teach safe, energetic and empowering yoga classes. The training provides a blueprint for incorporating the physical, psychological, spiritual, and mystical aspects of yoga into modern life, without losing sight of the universal goal of the practice: liberation. Emphasizing interconnectedness and a non-dualistic view of life, this training will help you to dive deep into the practice that awakens within us a need to act compassionately and support all life on Earth. Participants will gain the skills to confidently achieve those goals for themselves, as well as the ability to teach others how to live in harmony.
This training program covers yoga philosophy and scriptures, history of yoga, introduction to Sanskrit, introduction to anatomy, practice teaching sessions, study groups, mentor guidance, quizzes, midterm and final tests, and all aspects of the Shanti Yoga Shala Vinyasa practice.
